Absolute Energy is Back for Mowsworth Rampage Round Two to Support Local Charities

Troy, Duke and Cameron are back on their ride-on mowers for Mowsworth Rampage round two. After last year’s huge effort, which raised $68,000 for the Nelson Tasman Hospice and the Cancer Society Nelson Tasman, the crew are ready to take on the challenge again. This time the goal is even bigger. With more riders joining in, the aim is to raise $100,000 for two charities that mean so much to our community.

On Saturday 18 October the mowers will line up once again at Molesworth Station. The team will travel 86 kilometres from Molesworth Station to Hanmer Springs. It is a long, tough day, but one filled with plenty of laughs, community spirit, and the knowledge that every kilometre helps make a difference.

What is the Mowsworth Rampage?

The Mowsworth Rampage is one of those events you have to see to believe. Instead of mountain bikes or motorbikes, the participants take to the track on ride-on lawnmowers. The route stretches from Molesworth Station to Hanmer Springs, covering rugged high country roads and stunning scenery along the way.

The challenge is about endurance. Mowers are not built for speed, and breakdowns are always a risk, but that is part of the fun. Riders work together, crews provide support, and locals cheer them on at pitstops along the way. While the sight of a convoy of lawnmowers winding through the hills might raise a few smiles, the purpose behind it is serious. Every mower is there to raise funds and awareness for local charities that support families facing some of life’s toughest challenges.

Why We Are Taking Part

At Absolute Energy we believe in giving back to the community that supports us. The Nelson Tasman Hospice and Cancer Society Nelson Tasman are organisations that touch the lives of so many people across our region.

The Cancer Society provides vital help to those affected by cancer, from practical support to counselling and advice. The Nelson Tasman Hospice offers compassionate palliative care, supporting people and their families through end-of-life journeys. Almost everyone knows a family who has been helped by these groups, whether it is a neighbour, friend, or someone closer to home. That is why events like the Mowsworth Rampage matter. They give us all a chance to support the people who support us.

Last year our team, with the help of our supporters, made a real difference. This year we want to go further. By joining the Rampage again we hope to do our part to give both charities the funds they need to continue providing their essential services to our community.

How You Can Help

The Mowsworth Rampage is more than just an endurance event. It is about community. Enduring discomfort for a day pales in comparison to the challenges faced by those battling cancer and other life-altering conditions. Every donation, large or small, goes directly to the Cancer Society Nelson Tasman and Nelson Tasman Hospice. These funds provide practical support, medical care, and comfort to people when they need it most.

If you would like to support our team, donations can be made online through the official Rampage fundraising page. Just look for Team Absolute Energy. Every bit counts, and together we can help reach this year’s $100,000 goal.
